101 t-shirt care instructions guide to keep them long-lasting and tip-top

When you invest in a custom t-shirt, it’s not just the money, but time, energy, and memories as well. So you don’t want to ruin it in any sense and make it last as long as possible. There Are multiple laundry, storage, and care mechanisms that affect the overall longevity of a t-shirt. So we have compiled a complete list of such t-shirt care instructions that you can implement in your day-to-day life to keep the prints alive and the t-shirt intact:

    • Turn the t-shirt inside out before throwing it into the washer

Friction with other clothes or sides of the washer often results in fading of the colors, leading to loosening and cracking of the print. So always turn them inside out and then wash. It also helps in removing the inner layer of dirt and sweat, which is a win-win situation.

Note: Don’t forget to look at the t-shirt labels for added t-shirt care instructions when washing. They’re meant to be implemented to keep the colors and quality intact! Consider investing in a good quality mesh laundry bag to reduce the amount of contact.

    • Use cold water when washing

Hot water can be harsh on the graphic/print and also makes the print crack when it dries up. For these reasons, you might not want to wash your favorite graphic t-shirt in hot water. Warm water is still better than hot water!

Note: You can even choose to hand-wash to be sure about the durability and extreme care when washing.

    • No tumble drying

Let the t-shirt dry outside in the open, but not under direct sunlight. Don’t put it in a dryer as the extreme heat of the dryer is the most deadly thing that you can do to ruin your printed tee.

Note: When hanging using clips or a hanger, use soft gripped and soft, small hangers to avoid any awkward poking marks at the sides of the t-shirt!

    • Do not iron the prints directly

Prolonged ironing ruins the print, leading it to peel and crack. T-shirts any way do not require too much ironing. But still, if you want to do it, either turn it inside out and then iron. Or place a cotton cloth over the print and then iron. Or even better, a combination of both. You can even choose to spar a little water over the garment for easy gliding of the iron over the cloth.

    • Avoid too much laundry detergents or bleaching agent

Both of these cleaners and washers only add up to fading of the print and increased friction experienced by the t-shirt as the more you use, the more you have to rinse and wash.

Note: Rinse out all the detergent and bleach as it can cause skin irritation when leftover in the fabric.

    • Store your clothes the right way

Now, this is something many don’t give a second thought though it is crucial. Why? Because of course, you won’t be wearing all the t-shirts in one go or every time.

The way you store your clothes makes a huge impact on their longevity and durability. Store your favorite printed graphic t-shirts at clean, dry, and dark spots. Clothes love fresh air, but not sunlight.

Also, if you’re craving folding them, then stop! Instead, roll them up and place them carefully to avoid creasing and distortion of the pattern. Again one of the most sought-after t-shirt care instructions many forget, but you know now!

Thank us later. But before that, get premium screen printed t-shirts from logoup for better durability and easy maintenance. Choose the right fit, favorite color, and get going!

Note: When hanging t-shirts, insert the hanger from the bottom to not over-stretch the neckline. Also, don’t shy away from using wide hangers for even distribution of its weight.

    • Treat t-shirt stains immediately

Materials like cotton and linen are great absorbers. The faster you work on removing the stain, the easier it is to remove it. But unfortunately, there’s no universal detergent or stain remover that will work for all kinds of stains. The better the product is at removing the stains, the harsher it would be!

A gentle piece of advice would be to first use warm water and then continue using a mild detergent or soap.

Note: For persistent stains, try working with a commercial stain remover but without any bleaching properties for colored cotton pieces. Bleach often leaves faded colors and prints on the t-shirt.

    • Prefer sorting your laundry beforehand

Last but not least of the entire t-shirt care instructions list; sort your laundry in the first place. Now by sorting, we mean sorting by colors and by t-shirt fabric type.

Wash colored clothes together while all whites together. When washing colored also, the best practice is to wash light-colored clothes together and darker ones separately to avoid any color transfer from one cloth to the other. As for the fabrics, a delicate summer cotton t-shirt might need lesser wash cycles than workwear or sportswear. So take this into account.

Note: When unsure, turn to the care labels for any added instructions to follow!

Like any other garment, t-shirts too have a lifetime and will eventually lose their print and even fade. But you can surely delay the process if you follow the right t-shirt care instructions and practice efficient storage!

Don’t forget to look at the vast collection of blank t-shirts we have to offer.

I turn most of my clothes (not socks or underwear) inside out before they go in the washing machine. I also ensure buttons are fastened and zippers are closed. By turning your items inside out in the washing machine you can ensure that these sweat stains are coming in as close a contact with the detergent as possible. https://www.tshirtmanufacturerbd.com/
